MONROE - A suspect wanted for armed robbery in an incident that occurred in Recreation Park Thursday was named in an arrest warrant issued by the Monroe Police Depart-ment.

Accord-ing to an MPD news release, police and members of the Lafayette County Sheriff Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant Saturday on a residence where the suspect, Keandre K. Euell, 19, Monroe, was expected to be. Euell was not found, but evidence was taken from the residence located on Monroe's east side in the 1500 block of 23rd Avenue.

Police Chief Fred Kelley said officers obtained driver's licenses and cellphones at the residence that matched the victims' stolen property.

Euell is wanted for allegedly taking cash, identification and cellphones from two victims while he was armed with a small handgun in the park at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The victims provided a description of the robber, and Euell was named as a suspect.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Euell, who is described as a black man, 6 feet, 1 inches tall, and about 170 pounds with a tattoo on his face and another on his wrist.

Euell may be in the northern Illinois area, and police warn he should be considered armed and dangerous.
