MONROE — A Monroe man was issued several traffic citations after leaving his heavily damaged vehicle, trailer and boat near where he crashed them northeast of Monroe on June 8, according to the Green County Sheriff’s Office.
Brandyn S. Sanborn, 28, was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle, hit-and-run to property adjacent to a highway and failure to notify law enforcement of an accident.
The crash happened in the area of Wisconsin 59 near Monroe Sylvester Road, Town of Sylvester, near the Monroe airport. Deputies responded to the scene at 8:18 a.m. Saturday, June 8, and discovered the driver and vehicle had fled the scene.
The vehicle had gone off the road, hit a traffic sign, then struck an embankment and collided with a fence. Evidence at the scene revealed the vehicle was towing a boat and trailer at the time of the crash.
Deputies searched the area and located the vehicle involved in the crash at a nearby business. The vehicle, which was unoccupied, had a boat and trailer hitched to it. The vehicle, boat and trailer were all heavily damaged. They were towed.
An investigation later identified Sanborn as the driver. He reported that he lost control and crashed in the early morning hours of June 8. He reported he was injured in the crash and he was the only occupant in the vehicle.
