MONROE - A Monroe man charged with sexually assaulting two girls over the course of more than a decade is free on bond after making his initial appearance in Green County Circuit Court Monday.

Greg P. Gogin, 55, faces seven Class B and Class C felonies. He's charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child and three counts of repeated sexual assault of the same child. One of the three counts alleges he had at least three first-degree sexual assault violations with the same child. He also faces three related charges.

Judge David Deininger set Gogin's bond at $50,000, with $5,000 of that payable in cash. Court records indicate Gogin posted $5,000 in cash on Monday.

The charges stem from incidents that reportedly began when one of the girls was about 5 years old. The victims are now young women.

The bond agreement comes with a long list of conditions. He is ordered not to contact the victims nor anyone under 18, except for his two minor children when their mother is present or approves visitation. He cannot come within 100 yards of any place where youth-oriented activities might be held, such as schools, parks, pools and athletic fields. He must stay inside Wisconsin but outside Monroe, except for court dates, meetings with his attorneys, and previously scheduled doctor and dental appointments. Court documents list his current address as Wautoma.

He also must provide the court addresses and phone numbers for himself and his employer, and surrender his passport.

Gogin appeared in person with attorneys Sarah Schmeiser and Adam Nero. Schmeiser noted that Tracey Wood, who was not present, is also representing Gogin in the case.

The only words Gogin, dressed in a dark suit and shirt, spoke were brief "yes" responses to questions from Deininger.

Gogin is due back in court July 2 for a preliminary hearing.
