New MHS

MONROE — The School District of Monroe announced this week a major sponsorship and naming agreement with the Maliszewski family for the Performing Arts Center at the new Monroe High School. In recognition of their generous 20-year sponsorship, the facility will be known as the Maliszewski Family Performing Arts Center.

This sponsorship will provide $500,000, to be paid over the course of 20 years, ensuring that the Performing Arts Center at the new Monroe High School will remain a state of the art facility for years to come.

This gift reflects the Maliszewski family’s deep and ongoing commitment to education, the arts, and the Monroe community. Rick and Nancy Maliszewski, along with their sons Ryan and Jeff, daughter-in-law Kate, and Nancy’s mother, Marjorie Ekum, represent three generations of Monroe High School graduates. Their sponsorship serves as yet another example of the family’s enduring generosity and pride in their hometown.

Superintendent Joe Monroe expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Maliszewski family’s gift.

“The Maliszewski family’s legacy in Monroe runs deep, and their support of the new Performing Arts Center continues that remarkable tradition of giving back,” Superintendent Monroe said. “This facility will provide students and the community a modern space to experience and share the performing arts for years to come. We are deeply grateful for their vision, generosity, and commitment to creating opportunities that enrich the lives of our students and strengthen our community.”

Rick Maliszewski said that the sponsorship represents his family’s desire to give back to a community that has meant so much to them.

“This sponsorship represents an investment in our young people and the future of Monroe. It is with pride that, through education, the Maliszewski’s are supporting a community built on kindness,” Maliszewski said.

The Maliszewski Family Performing Arts Center will stand as a centerpiece of the new Monroe High School, serving as both a state-of-the-art educational space and a cultural gathering place for the community.

This partnership highlights the Monroe community’s strong tradition of supporting public education and the arts, ensuring that future generations will continue to benefit from exceptional learning and performance opportunities.
