Madison woman injured in accident with farm combine

EXETER TOWNSHIP - A Madison woman was injured in an SUV vs. farm combine accident Monday night in Exeter Township and had to be flown to UW Hospital via Medflight.

Edwin N. Lightfoot, 89, Madison, was westbound on County W in an SUV driving behind a farm combine driven by Marvin J. Schneider, 65, New Glarus. Schneider was signaling a left turn into a private driveway and at the same time Lightfoot attempted to pass Schneider in a no-passing zone. The front end of the combine hit the passenger side of the SUV causing severe damage to the SUV.

Lightfoot was uninjured, but his passenger Lila S. Lightfoot, 88, sustained injuries and was flown to UW Hospital.

Schneider was uninjured in the accident. Edwin Lightfoot was cited for passing on a hill or curve and released pending court.
