MONROE - The Monroe Arts Center will feature an exhibit by three Wisconsin artists entitled "Nature's Showcase" from Friday, Feb. 24, to March 23 at the Monroe Arts Center's Frehner Gallery.

The nature-inspired exhibit features fabric art by Brodhead resident Eileen Daniels, woodworking by Ross Daniels, of Brodhead, and ceramics by Onalaska resident Joyce Diveley.

Eileen Daniels is a quilt artist, teacher, and lecturer who has 35 years of teaching experience in the Brodhead school system and has shown her artwork in juried exhibits across the country for 10 years. Her award-winning wearable art works are eye-catching and showcase many embellishments. Most are inspired by nature, and her goal is to encourage others to learn new quilting techniques and to have fun learning. A variety of her quilted "art hangings" also will be displayed.

Ross Daniels is co-owner of Daniels Studios in Brodhead. A teacher in the Brodhead school system from 1975-2005, his utilitarian pieces are as useful as they are beautiful. His rolling pins and buttons are made with a variety of woods fabricated together to create intricate designs. His bowls are creatively turned to bring out the inner beauty of the wood species.

After a 33-year career as a self-employed architectural designer specializing in custom housing, Diveley took a clay class in 2000 and discovered her inner potter. Her award-winning clay pieces demonstrate her passion and love of the medium. Influenced by nature and her interpretation of the four seasons, the pictorial work on her ceramic lanterns causes light to flicker through the clay, softening the hardscape of the medium.

An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24, from 5-7 p.m. in Frehner Gallery, with a brief artist gallery talk at 5:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

This exhibit has been made possible by Monroe Arts Center Corporate Underwriter: Colony Brands, Inc.; and Season Media Underwriters Monroe Publishing, LLC and Big Radio; with additional support from Michael & Shelley Muranyi.
