MONROE - Relive the glory days of Motown when "The Legends of Motown and More," starring the Detroit-based vocal trio, Horizon, comes to the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5.

Handpicked for their voices, their dancing ability, their humor, and their likeability, the vocal trio Horizon is a polished theatrical ensemble. Dressed in classic Motown style, Horizon members Rick Ingram, Prentiss "Smoke" Jones, and Earl Vinson entertain in this live music and dance stage show designed to catapult Motown back to its glory days. Backed by a live band, Legends of Motown and More performs classic songs made famous by the Temptations, the Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, Earth, Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye, the Spinners and more.

Rick Ingram, leader and founder of Horizon, started out in theater. After performing in various stage plays, he decided to put a singing group together. The group quickly began to gain notoriety after releasing a hit single called "Swing Engine." The song, famous throughout the east Caribbean and parts of the U.S., opened many doors for Horizon. Horizon presently performs The Legends of Motown and More both nationally and internationally, and is a headliner act for four major cruise lines.

Prentiss Jones, known as Smoke, started singing in his school choir and later joined various singing groups throughout the city of Detroit. While hosting a city-wide karaoke contest, he was spotted by a talent scout for Ingram Productions and was offered an opportunity to join the group Horizon; he is now one of the lead singers for the group.

Earl Vinson started singing in his church choir, then quickly moved on to gain experience in acting and dancing. He also starred in a regional dance show called, "The Scene," and was a finalist on the national dance show, "Dance Fever." Vinson is presently a lead and background singer for Horizon.

Horizon has performed with such groups as the Temptations and the Four Tops as well as Randy Meisner of The Eagles; Denny Laine of Wings and The Moody Blues; Fergie Frederiksen of Toto; and Ron Wikso of Foreigner. In addition, Horizon has donated their talents to the Jerry Lewis Telethon, March of Dimes, Children's Miracle Network, Michigan Cancer Foundation, and Isaiah Thomas Foundation's Celebrity Golf Classic.
