MONROE - Monroe Arts Center will host open auditions for MAC Radio Live Showcase of Talent from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Monroe Arts Center, 1315 11th St.
For the 16th consecutive year, MAC will host the event under the direction of musician and theater professional, Jean Adler Woolworth, along with musical direction by Rich Woolworth. MAC Radio Live Showcase of Talent will be presented in the same manner as a radio broadcast, such as Prairie Home Companion. The event will be emceed by Monroe personality Ron Spielman, and will include music, comedy, commercial jingles, and the return of the onstage house band, Betty and the Bee Stings.
The auditions are open to the public and adults, children and any-sized group can audition. Entertainment in all genres of music (popular, jazz, folk, orchestral, chamber, solo), comedy acts (stand-up, skits, improv), as well as other types of acts will be considered. Performers are required to audition a well-prepared act in its entirety, up to a maximum of three minutes in length. Performance attire, costumes, or props are mandatory at auditions.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for students, ages 18 and under. Tickets are available at the MAC box office, 1315 11th St.
