MAC annual Holiday Silent Auction starts Saturday

MONROE - The Monroe Arts Center's 2016 Holiday Silent Auction provides a variety of unique and one-of-a-kind treasures.

The auction opening night is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and it runs through Dec. 10.

Auction items will be on display in MAC's Frehner Gallery at 1315 11th St.

This MAC fundraiser features hundreds of items donated by individuals and businesses from Monroe and the surrounding area. For the convenience of shoppers, a Holiday Auction Booklet listing the items by category is provided. This year's auction categories are: original art and handcrafted items; holiday-themed items; books and music; home and garden; clothing and jewelry; collectibles; health and beauty; toys, sports, and recreation; theater, entertainment and getaways; restaurant and specialty dinners; baked goods and specialty foods; and this and that.

Items for this year's auction include: handcrafted seasonal centerpieces; art objects; jewelry; golf packages; UW men's basketball tickets and parking pass; wood-fired pizza dinner for six; raclette dinner for six; Green Bay Packer Aaron Rodgers jersey; variety of gift baskets, homemade candies, breads, cookies, cakes, pies, jams and jellies; and numerous gift certificates.

After the auction opening will be the 7:30 p.m. performance by the April Verch Band.

Final auction bids will be accepted until 7:15 p.m. Dec. 10 before the 7:30 p.m. performance "A Cannova's Holiday Celebration."
