Logo design for 2010 Cheese Days sought

MONROE - Green County Cheese Days is currently seeking designs for the circular "button logo" for the 2010 festival. The logo that is selected will be reproduced in a variety of ways, including on T-shirts and commemorative steins.

The logo contest is open to both professional and amateur artists. It is possible that sketches and logo ideas submitted by amateurs will be used in developing a concept, but from these ideas Cheese Days reserves the right to have a final design professionally produced in a scalable format acceptable for multiple applications, including print, screen-print, embroidery, and signs. Designs submitted in full-color may also be simplified to spot color only.

Festival organizers are looking for a design to creatively showcase the traditions of cheesemaking, dairy farming, and Swiss heritage. Designs in the past have featured cheese, alphorns, Swiss shields and flags, and dairy cattle. To view previous button logos beginning with the button dating back to the second festival held in 1915, visit the history page on the Cheese Days web site www.cheesedays.com.

Designs must include the words "Green County Cheese Days," and "Monroe, Wisconsin" and also should include the dates of the festival - September 17-19, 2010. The words September and Wisconsin can be abbreviated.

Designs and design ideas should be submitted by mail to: Jim Bruce, 1016 N. Second St., Monroe, WI 53566, or by e-mail to cabletvguy@ charter.net. Acceptable submission formats include electronic files burned to CD, final designs on paper, and concept sketches. Contact Jim Bruce at (608) 329-4009 with questions. Designs are due by April 3.
