MONROE - Main Street Monroe has a special "local flavors" night planned June 9 to coincide with the first Concert on the Square of the season.

Groups and individuals are invited to set up booths on the inner ring of the south side of the downtown square. Spaces are open to the following: service clubs, community organizations, youth groups, non-profits, artisans, crafters, re-sellers, farmers market and other vendors. Groups are invited to use their booth space to promote their mission, fund raise or recruit members and volunteers. Artisans and crafters may sell their wares and are encouraged to do demonstrations. Everyone is encouraged to offer games, make-and-take crafts for kids, prize drawings or activities to attract concert attendees to visit the booths.

Booth spaces will be assigned according to the order in which they are received. Rental is $25 for a 10-by-10 foot space. There is no electricity available. Hours of operation are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Setup will be available beginning at 5 p.m. No vehicles will be allowed in the street area closed for booths (south side of the square, inner ring only) so participants should plan accordingly by bringing rolling carts if needed. The entire west side of the square (concert and audience area both inner and outer rings) also will be closed to vehicles. Parking will be available in other areas around the square.

To reserve a booth, send a $25 check to Main Street Monroe, PO Box 544, Monroe, Wisconsin, 53566. Include your name (and/or group name), cell phone number that could be used to contact you the day of the event, email and a brief description of what will be in your booth. Reservations also may be dropped off at the Main Street office on the second level of Wisconsin Bank & Trust. Booth reservations are due by June 7.

Main Street Monroe's featured nonprofits for the 2017 concert season have been invited to host booths at no cost. These organizations are Family Promise of Green County, Shakespeare on the Edge, Care Net Pregnancy Center, Literacy Council, Faith Addiction Awareness and Monroe Volunteer Firefighters Association.

Main Street Monroe Concerts on the Square are sponsored by Colony Brands, with a variety of musical genres and fun theme nights planned throughout the summer season.
