MONROE - The 13th annual Lighted Christmas Parade, sponsored by Main Street Monroe and PDC, is set for 6 p.m. Dec. 5.

Individuals, business and organizations are able to participate in the event. The parade will organize at the Monroe Middle School north side and Monroe school district parking lot, before 6 p.m., and proceeds around the Square returning to the Monroe school district parking lot.

Generators will be available from Precision Drive and Control Inc. for any entry that needs electricity for lighting. To reserve a generator, contact Ann Koshkee at PDC prior to Nov. 29, to make arrangements to reserve and pick up a generator. There is a limited supply that will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

To avoid confusion, there will be only one Santa and Mrs. Claus in the parade and Main Street Monroe will provide them. The Monroe Noon Optimist will host a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus after the parade at the Wisconsin Bank and Trust for craft, hot chocolate, treats and a photo with Santa. Christmas carols will be provided by St. Victor's School chorus students.

For a parade entry form or for more information, contact co-chairs Tom Miller at tmiller4421@charter.net or 608-329-4421 and Melisa Schmidt at melisaschmidt@hotmail.com or 608-214-2577. Entry form will ensure that individuals or organizations will be kept up to date on all happenings for the parade.
