DARLINGTON - An accident involving a riding lawn mower sent a 70-year-old Darlington man to the hospital Wednesday, officials said.
William Weinbrenner drove a riding lawn mower over a 15-foot-tall landscape wall on Hill Street and landed on a driveway below, according to a Darlington Police Department release. The lawn mower landed on top of Weinbrenner. A passer-by lifted the lawn mower off Weinbrenner and summoned help. Darlington police officers were dispatched at 3:17 p.m.
Weinbrenner was transported to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County by ambulance before being transferred by MedFlight to UW Hospital in Madison.
The accident is under investigation.
