MONROE - On May 11, the Green County Law Enforcement Administrators Association named its Law Enforcement Workers of the Year for 2009. Deputy Police Chief Brian Raupp of the Brodhead Police Department was selected as the Green County Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Police Clerk Ann Ziltner of the New Glarus Police Department was named Law Enforcement Worker of the Year.

Raupp's management of thousands of dollars in grant monies was the driving force behind his selection as Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Raupp secured and or managed grant money used to purchase squad car equipment such as law enforcement grade squad computers, digitally compatible squad car radios and energy efficient LED squad car emergency light bars.

Brodhead Police Chief Tom Moczynski commended Raupp saying, "Brian works very hard making sure the Brodhead Police Department is able to carry out excellent policing and community service.

"Every day he works quietly behind the scenes making our department the best it can be; he is most deserving of this recognition."

Ziltner was recognized for sustained superior performance in administrative assistance to the New Glarus Police Department.

Chief Steve Allbaugh congratulated Ziltner saying, "Ann is often hard at work before sunrise assisting the department in preparation of cases and in completing other administrative requirements. Her efforts are greatly appreciated."

The association represents all criminal justice agencies and offices working in Green County.
