BRODHEAD - On April 10, Kuhn North America in Brodhead announced another round of layoffs.
Notice was given to 50 full-time employees that their jobs will be eliminated indefinitely later this month.
The company attributes the layoffs to a tightening farm economy, farmers delaying equipment purchases and farm equipment dealers not providing manufacturers with new orders.
Kuhn has also reduced its sales and production plans for 2009.
Kuhn North America is North America's largest manufacturer of TMR mixers and manure spreaders, and a leading provider of hay and forage tools. Kuhn employs over 500 people in North America at the corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Brodhead, and sales and distribution centers in New York, Tennessee, Washington, Colorado, and the providence of Quebec.
