MONROE – Defendant Logan Kruckenberg-Anderson was found guilty of the 2021 murder of his newborn baby, a jury ruled on Wednesday, November 5. After eight days of trial in Green County Circuit Court, the jury went into deliberation around 1 p.m. and came back about two hours later with a guilty verdict on both counts: first-degree intentional homicide and move, bury or hide the corpse of a child.

In January 2021, Kruckenberg-Anderson, then 16, and his girlfriend, then 14, had a child in secret. According to the investigation, which included two confessions, Kruckenberg-Anderson put baby Harper, just hours old, into his backpack and walked across Albany into a nearby woods. It was there the child, naked, was placed on the ground and shot twice in the head, then intentionally covered in snow. The infant, named Harper, was found days later by investigators.

Kruckenberg-Anderson faces life in prison. For more on this case, see the Saturday, November 8 edition of the Monroe Times.
