Klondike Cheese captures 12 awards

MONROE - Klondike Cheese Company claimed 12 ribbons in the five categories that it entered at the Wisconsin State Fair Cheese and Butter contest in Milwaukee.

The State Fair will take place Aug. 4-14 in Milwaukee with the Blue Ribbon Cheese and Butter auction being held Aug. 11 at Saz's Hospitality Village on the fairgrounds.

Klondike's Odyssey Mediterranean Feta received first place, Odyssey Tomato and Basil Feta second and Odyssey Peppercorn third in the same category. The Odyssey Traditional Feta took first and second place in the feta category.

Klondike Cheese's brick cheese took first- and second-place ribbons in the brick/Muenster category. Klondike also was recognized for sweeping all three places in the flavored Havarti category with its dill Havarti and taking first and second place in the plain Havarti category.

Klondike Cheese Company's award-winning Odyssey feta cheese and Wisconsin brick and Havarti are made using the freshest Wisconsin cow's milk with state-of-the-art equipment, which yields a cheese of superior quality and consistency, according to a news release.
