MONROE - Dan Keyser resigned from his new position as assistant principal at Monroe Middle School.

The Monroe school board approved the resignation Monday without discussion.

He served as the school district's director of curriculum since 2012 but was reassigned earlier this summer to the assistant principal position.

By resigning after July 1, he broke his contract but enclosed a check for the early termination fee of $200 in his resignation letter. The letter was July 3.

His letter did not include a reason for leaving.
