WIOTA TOWNSHIP - A 12-year-old driving a Utility Task Vehicle was seriously injured Saturday after a collision caused the juvenile to be ejected from the UTV.
The juvenile was transported to Memorial Hospital in Lafayette County via Rural Medical Ambulance and was later transferred via MedFlight to UW Hospital in Madison.
The juvenile was driving a UTV in a private field off of County D when a northbound truck and trailer being driven by Greg A. Halvorson, 51, Gratiot, hit the UTV and caused the juvenile to be ejected.
The juvenile's UTV was severely damaged and driven from the scene.
Halvorson reported no injuries. His truck and trailer were moderately damaged and driven from the scene.
Deputies, Wiota Fire Department and Wiota First Response assisted at the scene of the accident.
