MONROE - Tom Vale announced that he will seek a second term as judge in Green County Circuit Court Branch 2.

The second branch in Green County was created by the state in 2008, and Vale was elected as the first judge to hold that position in 2009.

Incumbent Green County Circuit Court Judge James Beer announced last week he will run for a fourth term in Branch 1. The non-partisan election for both positions will take place in April.

Vale received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Journalism with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and earned his law degree at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He was in private practice with the Monroe law firm of Duxstad, Vale and Bestul, S.C., before being elected to his first term as judge.

Vale is a member of the Wisconsin and Iowa bar associations and a past-president of the Green County Bar Association. He was also recently appointed as one of 13 circuit judges from around the state to serve on the Wisconsin Supreme Court's Planning and Policy Advisory Committee.

Vale and his wife reside in rural Monroe and have three adult children.
