JUDA - With the hiring of Madison-based Potter Lawson architectural firm on Jan. 7, the Juda School District is pursuing in earnest a referendum vote in the spring of 2016 that will ask voters to approve remodeling and updating at its only building.
The building, which houses grades pre-K through 12, is need of remodeled bathrooms, the moving of its library to the space used for the secondary gymnasium, new cabinetry in the elementary wing, technology and curriculum updates and new safety features, according to Traci Davis, the superintendent.
The dollar amount is undetermined.
"It won't be huge," Davis said. "We are looking to do things we didn't in the 2000 remodeling. We're not talking about additions or anything like that."
The $4.2 million referendum that passed in 2000 allowed for a new gymnasium and computer lab.
