Juda School Board: Nov. 11, 2009

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, the Juda School Board:

• Learned three board seats are up for election in the spring. Board members Buck Whitney, Carrie Mann and Joanne Salzwedel are up for election. Nomination papers are available at the school.

• Approved a request for an additional part-time special needs aide to work with a student who is gradually increasing their time spent in school. This position is paid for through entitlement funds.

• Learned of the school's "exemplary" status on the recent food service inspection from the Wisconsin Department of Health.

• Learned Media Specialist Mary Larson has been appointed to the Green County Library Board.

• Heard a report from the Buildings and Grounds Committee that no action will be taken at this time on the Reuben Goecks property. The committee will not have a representative at the auction and will discuss further if the property does not sell on Nov. 15.

• Accepted a donation of an American Flag from the American Legion Auxiliary and a $750 donation from Olin Oil Company on behalf of Exxon Mobile for the Math Team.

• The Math Team did very well at a recent competition in Platteville, winning the meet for the second year in a row under the guidance of Scott Anderson.
