MONROE - The Green County Job Fair, a regional recruiting event, will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Peppercorn Banquets and Catering, 1417 Mansion Drive, Monroe. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will be open for military veterans beginning at 9:30 a.m.

More than 30 employment representatives will be on hand to answer questions about their company and their open positions. Open positions are both full- and part-time, represent many industry sectors, from manufacturing to retail, and require little to no skill, as well as jobs requiring highly developed skills.

Employers scheduled to attend the job fair include: Colony Brands, Emmi Roth USA, Grede, Highland Community College, Industrial Combustion, iPacesetters, Jack Link's Beef Jerky, Klondike Cheese, Kuhn North America, Mexican Cheese Producers, Mitek, Monroe Clinic, Monroe Manor, Monroe Truck Equipment, Orchid Monroe, Precision Drive and Control, Quest Industrial, Rainbow Childcare, Schneider National, Straight Forward, Truck Country, Walgreens and West. In addition, several employment agencies will attend, including Furst Staffing, Hughes Resources, Kelly Services, Manpower, QPS Employment Group, Sedona Staffing Services and Tradesmen International.

Applicants should prepare to attend the event. Workforce representatives suggest that applicants "dress for success" in attire suitable for a job interview, practice telling the prospective employer why they should be hired, and bring several copies of resumes. Many employers will be accepting applications on-site. Computers with Internet access will be available to complete online job applications.

There is no charge to attend the Green County Job Fair. The event is open to all Wisconsin and Illinois job seekers in the Green County region. Organizers of the job fair include Forward Service Corp., Green County Development Corp., Monroe Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SW Workforce Development Board, and Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
