Job Fair to be held in Monroe May 11

MONROE - Whether hoping to find a fresh start, a better job or a new career direction, job-seekers can plan to attend the Green County Job Fair from 9 a.m. to noon May 11 at Blackhawk Technical College, Monroe Campus, 210 4th Ave., Monroe.

The job fair will provide access to employers seeking candidates in every discipline, from hospitality and health care to finance, construction, advanced manufacturing and everything in between.

Nearly 30 employers with more than 600 full-time, part-time, seasonal and temporary jobs will be participating in the free event. No pre-registration is required for job-seekers. Students looking for part-time employment or who are interested in learning about local careers are encouraged to attend also.

In addition to bringing in top employers from throughout the Green County region, local workforce service providers will be on hand to assist job-seekers in preparing for their search.

Employers scheduled to attend the Job Fair include: AAM-Casting Browntown Manufacturing Facility, Browntown; Colony Brands Inc., Monroe; CoreFX Ingredients LLC, Orangeville; Emmi Roth USA, Monroe/ Platteville/Fitchburg; G4S Secure Solution (USA) Inc., Madison; HCI Get-A-Pro, Freeport; Industrial Combustion, Monroe; Jack Link's Beef Jerky, New Glarus; Klondike Cheese Co., Monroe; Kobussen Buses Ltd., Brodhead; Lamers Bus Lines, Monroe; Monroe Clinic, Monroe; Monroe Manor Nursing and Rehab, Monroe; Monroe Truck Equipment, Monroe; New Glarus Home, New Glarus; Pizza Hut, Monroe; Precision Drive & Control Inc., Monroe; Schneider, Green Bay; Serta Simmons Bedding, Janesville; SK Plastic Molding Inc., Monroe/Darlington; Stainless Technologies LLC/WI Whey Protein, Darlington; Tradesmen International, Madison; Union Bank & Trust Company, Evansville; WEConnect, Green Bay; Wisconsin & Southern Railroad, Madison; and Woods Crossing, Brodhead.

FurstStaffing, QPS Employment Group and Sedona Staffing Services will also be present.

Workforce representatives remind job seekers to "dress for success" in attire suitable for a job interview, practice telling the prospective employer why they should be hired and bring several copies of a resume. Many employers will be accepting applications on-site. Computers with Internet access will be available to complete online job applications.

The event is open to all Wisconsin and Illinois job-seekers. It is organized by numerous agencies. Green County Development Corporation and the Monroe Chamber of Commerce also provided support.
