MONROE - The number of inmates at the Green County Jail remained low in the month of March, according to Sheriff Jeff Skatrud.
Skatrud presented the jail population numbers at the meeting Wednesday, April 10, of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee.
The daily average population for March was 46, just two above the daily average for February, according to Skatrud. Five inmates were out on electronic monitoring.
One female inmate is being housed in the Lafayette County Jail because her co-defendant is also being held by Green County.
"We took a male inmate in trade," Skatrud said.
He also reported to the committee that the jail did an annual review with Advanced Correctional Healthcare, the medical services contractor for inmates, and no issues were found with the dispensing of medicine. The jailer-maintained medication logs were "perfect."
