MONROE — The School District of Monroe recently announced that, as part of the district’s new high school building project, Badger State Ethanol has pledged $350,000 in support for naming rights on the stadium and other facilities.

The gift was welcomed by the board of education at its regular meeting May 12.

The new school is taking shape on the city’s northeast edge, and is scheduled to open for the 2026-2027 school year. The board also received the latest in a number of periodic updates on the status of the project, funded largely by an $88 million referendum.

“We’re very fortunate this  community of Monroe has been more than generous over the years,” said Joe Monroe, interim superintendent. “Badger State Ethanol has a long history of being a partner with us to serve our students.”

The donation involves three “key facilities,” according to officials, securing 10-year naming rights for each:

●  Badger State Ethanol Stadium — $250,000

●  Badger State Ethanol Library Media Center — $50,000

●  Badger State Ethanol Agricultural Greenhouse — $50,000

The gifts are in keeping with the firm’s commitment to the community, company officials said.

“At Badger State Ethanol, we believe in fueling the future — both literally and figuratively,” said Erik Huschitt, CEO of Badger State Ethanol. “We’re incredibly proud to support the School District of Monroe in this bold vision. These new spaces will empower students to grow, achieve, and lead — and we’re thrilled to be a part of that journey.”

The naming rights are set to take effect upon completion of the respective facilities.

In a press release touting the public-private partnership, Monroe called The Library Media Center “a hub of innovation and literacy. “ And he said the

Greenhouse will enhance opportunities in Monroe’s proud agricultural program. And he said the upgraded stadium will offer an “exciting and modern environment for student-athletes and fans alike.”

The gift is one of many sponsorship opportunities that will be available to the community, according to Monroe. He said the district is poised to announce some more of those partnerships in the near future.
