MONROE - An Illinois man has died from injuries sustained in an ATV crash near Monroe Saturday night, the Green County Sheriff's Department reported Monday evening.
Green County deputies and Monroe police responded to the ATV crash on the Cheese Country Trail just west of Monroe at about 11 p.m. Saturday. They reported that an ATV operated by Jose L. Olivares, 46, of Addison, Illinois, had collided with a tree adjacent to the trail. Olivares was unresponsive and responders administered CPR. He was transported to the University of Wisconsin Hospital by MedFlight.
Alcohol is considered a factor in the accident. The Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
