MONROE — A Belleville man was arrested late last week for possession of child pornography following an investigation, according to the Green County Sheriff’s Office in a press release.
At approximately 8 a.m. on Friday, August 29, the Green County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Janesville Police Department, New Glarus Police Department, and the WI Department of Justice - Division of Criminal Investigation, executed a residential search warrant in the N8900 block of Madison Street in the Town of Exeter. The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division.
“The investigation started with a cyber-tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) being referred to the Sheriff’s Office,” said Chief Deputy John Schuetz in the press release. “The investigation into the cyber-tip identified reported media depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM), commonly referred to as child pornography. As a result of the tip and a subsequent investigation, in excess of 70 additional images depicting Child Sexual Abuse Material were discovered during the search warrant.”
David C Blandino, 66, of rural Belleville, was taken into custody and booked into the Green County Jail with charges requested of the District Attorney’s Office for the Possession of Child Pornography, Class D Felony.
The Green County Sheriff’s Office is leading this investigation and was assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations Digital Forensics Unit.
