Howard Otto Gillman Schiller, age 98, of Monroe, died at his home on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Howard was born on August 28, 1927 in Wood County, Wisconsin, the son of Otto and Caroline (Wandrow) Schiller. He married Joyce Foster on September 3, 1950 at the Monroe EUB Church. Howard worked in small equipment excavating with his brother, Vic, for several years and was employed at Advance Transformer for 25 years. He enjoyed talking with people and tinkering around the house. Howard was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a son, Stephen F. (Sue) Schiller of Huntley, IL; a daughter, Marsha (Mark) Lindsay of Monroe; grandchildren, Brian (Andrea) Lindsay of Hayward, WI, Nicole (Joe) Brown of South Carolina, Bruce Lindsay (Sara Netzer) of Combined Locks, WI; eight great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce, on March 14, 2016; six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, with Pastor Zach Bloom officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. A memorial fund will be established for the Monroe United Methodist Church.
