MADISON/ALBANY- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Southwest Region will hold a public meeting to discuss a preventative pavement maintenance project along Wis. 59, from Weiss Lane to the south junction of Wis. 104 in Green County.

The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25 in the Albertson Memorial Library, 200 N. Water St.

The project includes asphaltic pavement surface removal and replacement; safety improvements including guardrail upgrades, new signing and pavement markings; and replacement of highway bridge over Sylvester Creek in the Town of Sylvester. Road closure during construction is proposed for the structure replacement with a detour route using County S and Wis. 11. The remainder of the project will be open to traffic, and motorists can expect to encounter temporary lane closures with flagging operations. Acquisition of additional right-of-way is expected for the Sylvester Creek bridge replacement.

The event is open to the public. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis. A formal presentation is not planned.
