MONROE - The Green County Fair could easily be billed as "So much history, so much fun!" The Green County Agricultural Society and Mechanics Institute held its first outdoor fair in 1854 on land that was purchased for $400. In 1866, the Jockey Club built a race track believed to be nearly a half-mile in length.
