MONROE - A routine traffic stop by Monroe Police ended with the discovery of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation and four arrests within the city Tuesday.
Police officers, the Green County Sheriff's Department and agents of the Stateline Area Narcotics Team executed a search warrant on a Monroe residence in the 1700 block of 11th Street just before 8 a.m., according to a press release by Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley.
Officers located an alleged meth lab, chemicals, equipment and waste all commonly part of a meth operation. As a result of the search, Rich D. Hauser, 36, Brodhead, and Sheena L. McLemore, 32, Madison, were arrested at the scene for making meth, possessing drug paraphernalia, meth waste and "methamphetamine precursors," as well as burglary.
Hauser was also wanted for failing to appear in court in Rock County. In May, Hauser was charged with seven felonies regarding the possession and creation of meth and burglary. He was arrested along with five others for his involvement in a rural Juda-based meth operation.
McLemore was taken into custody on request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. She was convicted of armed robbery in Dane County in July 2014.
Both were taken to Green County Jail pending court appearances.
The search warrant stemmed from an earlier investigation that took place just before 1 a.m., when a Monroe Police officer pulled over Shayna N. Krebs, 20, Brodhead, within the 100 block of North 18th Avenue for traffic violations. After further investigation, a K-9 unit found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Krebs' vehicle.
Monroe Police arrested Krebs for possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Kyrene R. Trevino, 32, Monroe, was a passenger in the vehicle who was also arrested for possession of meth, drug paraphernalia, meth waste and a violation of court-ordered bail conditions from another case. She was also taken to Green County Jail on a request from the Wisconsin Department of Correction. Trevino is confined at the jail pending a court appearance.
The case remains under investigation.
