This photo, taken on Sept. 15, 1921, is from the Will E. Trukenbrod collection of glass negatives held at the Green County Historical Museum. The photo was taken for contractor Emil Bauman, possibly after he had constructed the house shown. The brick house, located on the northeast corner of 9th Street and 18th Avenue in Monroe, still looks similar today. It is just a block and a half east of the museum, which is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons through October. The deadline for ordering the book "Monroe Area Pictorial History" at the reduced rate has been extended to June 18.
