On Tuesday, Nov. 9, the Green County Board of Supervisors:

- Hired Ayres and Associates of Madison for $234,760 to map and plan development areas within the county. The mapping will determine what areas of the county are prone to flooding. The money to pay for the mapping will come from a grant from the federal government.

- Authorized Green County Human Services to hire a children's long-term care worker for seven hours a week until June 30. The $6,000 needed to fund the position will come from federal stimulus dollars, according to Greg Holcomb, Green County Human Services director.

- Canceled 22 checks in the amount of $792.87 for checks signed, but never cashed, by people or businesses that performed work for the county. The checks were written in 2008.
