On Tuesday, May 11, the Green County Board of Supervisors:
Approved a resolution to support a utility-terrain vehicle program that was signed by Gov. Jim Doyle March 15. The program will allow the vehicles to travel on road routes and trails throughout Green County and Wisconsin. Board member Jerry Guth, who is a member of the Tri-County Rails to Trails Committee, said the vehicles are already allowed on the Cheese Country Trail. The state program would allow them to travel on roads and streets, unless a municipality prohibits them from doing so. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will look at the program in two years to see if it should be extended, Guth said.
Approved a resolution that corrected the annual salary for the Green County Clerk of Court. The salary is $49,748 a year. Last month the board was told the annual salary was $53,064, but that amount was based on a 40-hour week. The clerk works 37 hours a week. The salary must be posted before nomination papers for the position are filed. The clerk's term ends Jan. 1, 2011.
Heard a presentation about Greenco Industries from director Jean Zweifel.
Heard annual reports from the University of Wisconsin-Extension and Green County Register of Deeds Cynthia Meudt.
