On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the Green County Board of Supervisors:
Approved 13 Green County Human Services contracts which include money for residential housing for juveniles as well as money for Iowa, Grant and Lafayette counties' aging and disability resource centers. Green County received money from the state for the three counties to improve their aging and disability resource centers. The contracts are routinely approved by the board every year.
Approved a union contract with the Green County Highway Department employees that calls for a 2.5 percent pay increase, effective, Jan. 1, 2008, and a 2 percent pay increase in July 2009.
Authorized Green County Treasurer Sherri Hawkins to apply for a Land Information grant. Board Chairman Art Carter said the board passes the resolution every year to receive money from fees paid to the state for land records. The amount of money the county will receive from the state hasn't been determined, Carter said.
Thanked Green County Corporation Counsel Bill Morgan for his 10 years of service to the county. Morgan recently took another job and will give up his duties as corporation counsel.
