On Tuesday, Feb. 9, the Green County Board of Supervisors:

• Created a human services position for a part-time adult daycare assistant. In the past, the county contracted with job services for a person to work 14 hours each week at a program held twice weekly at the Monroe United Church. Instead of contracting for the position, the county will hire someone to do the same duties at a cost similar to the amount paid previously.

• Authorized corporation counsel to apply for legal expense coverage from the Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corp. The insurance would pay for half of the county's legal expenses during contract negotiations after the $2,500 deductible is met. The county expects to spend about $18,000 in legal fees for union negotiations this year. The policy would save the county about $7,750.
