On Tuesday, April 21, the Green County Board of Supervisors:
Transferred about $707,000 from the general fund to several county departments which included Pleasant View Nursing Home, Green County Human Services and indigent counseling. The transfer was due to overdrawn department accounts.
Transferred about $1.045 million to the general fund from several accounts, such as the Green County Sheriff's Department, the Green County Health Department and the child support office. The various departments had more revenue than expected.
Approved 12 local banks as depositories for surplus county funds for 2009.
Approved a resolution that opposes Gov. Jim Doyle's changes to insurance laws in the 2009 budget. The ordinance said the changes would add new costs for counties and force counties to increase tax levies.
Updated the county's flood plain zoning ordinance to bring it in line with new state regulations.
Created a Green County Aging and Disability Advisory Committee and repeal the Long-Term Support Planning Committee. The county recently entered into the Family Care Program, sponsored by the state, and a new committee was needed to work with Green County Human Services in regard to aging and disability matters. There no longer was a need for the Long-Term Support Planning Committee.
