BELMONT - With a two-year decline in grain prices, a marketing meeting will be held Thursday at the Belmont Convention Center to address production and marketing strategies that will be critical to achieving a profitable year in 2015.
Wisconsin Bank and Trust and the Grant and Lafayette County Extension offices are co-hosting the event.
The program will begin at 10 a.m. with a look at 2015 production costs, break-even prices and the implications for land rental rates.
The session will include strategies and resources available to help with negotiating future rental rates and alternative rental agreements.
Managing input costs will be addressed, looking at the two types of cash inputs used in crop production.
The afternoon session will begin with a grain market outlook and marketing strategies to consider with today's low grain prices.
Lunch will be held at noon and the event will end by 3 p.m.
