MONROE - The 2009 Green County Fair Master Showman went to Alicia Gordee, daughter of Ron and Kelly Gordee, Argyle. Danielle Wittmann, daughter of Brian and Diana Wilinski, New Glarus was the runner-up.
The fourth annual Green County "Master Showman" was held at the 2009 Green County Fair on July 25. The event brings in the top senior (grades 10 and above) showman in the dairy, beef, sheep, swine, goats, rabbits and poultry departments at the fair. Two youth from dairy, beef sheep, swine and goats are invited to participate, with one additional youth selected from each of the rabbit and poultry divisions.

Dairy: Brienne Hendrickson, Dayton Dairylanders 4-H, Christopher Voegeli, Monticello FFA;

Swine: Kami Klitzman, Belleville FFA; Chad Klahn, Oregon FFA;

Poultry: Laura Lee Berrey, Browntown Busy Beavers 4-H.
Dan Ziegler, New Glarus FFA Advisor was Master of Ceremonies for the event. Showmanship judges included: Dairy - Traci Brewer, Badgerland Financial; Sheep - J.D. Dunphy, Albany; Swine - Jayson Butts, Evansville, swine producer; Beef - Tim Suddeth, vice president, Green County Beef Producers; Goats - Sam Kaderly, Green County Fair board president; Rabbits - Kristin Klossner, Green County 4-H Alumni; and Poultry - Melissa Leonard, Pecatonica FFA Advisor.
Participants all received medallions and polo shirts for being a qualifier in the event. Sponsors of the 2009 Green County Fair Master Showman Competition included Green County Farm Bureau, The Swiss Colony, Badgerland Financial, Green County 4-H Adult Leaders and the Green County FFA Chapters.
