MONROE - The Board of Directors of the Green County Development Corporation (GCDC) annual meeting and recognition dinner is set for Tuesday, March 29, at the Monroe Country Club.

Payment can be sent to Green County Development Corporation, 1016 16th Avenue, Monroe, WI 53566. The deadline for reservations is March 22, 2011.
The evening will begin with a networking reception, featuring samples of Green County products.
Anna Schramke, Executive Director of GCDC, will present a brief annual report and will recognize several key leaders and businesses that have added to the strength of the county and its economic growth during the past year.
Last year, four businesses received awards: Emmi-Roth Käse Ltd., Grandè Cheese Company, New Glarus Home and Sugar River Dairy.
In addition, Richard Grahn of Green County Spotlight, was presented the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award and Monsignor Campion was awarded the Richard B. Schmied Leadership Award. Nominations for this year's awards are currently being considered.
Capping off the evening will be the keynote speaker, Anita Matcha, Strategic Advisor in the Profit Enhancement Solutions group for Smith & Gesteland.
Matcha's presentation will be "Achieving Success in an Unbalanced World - The 80/20 Rule for Life & Business."
Her presentation focuses on the challenges facing business owners.
Matcha was part-owner of a regional magazine and book publishing company, serving as general manager and later as president.
She grew the business by incorporating the 80/20 thinking and focusing on customer and product line simplification. The presentation is a timely one, given the amount of uncertainty and challenges facing today's business owners, according to Nicholas Owen, New Glarus Village Administrator and President of GCDC.
Schramke agreed.
"Each year, GCDC has attempts to organize an event that is both fun and thought-provoking. We also try to include a few surprises," said Schramke. "Our event this year promises to build on that tradition."
