MONTICELLO - The annual fundraiser, "Gifts That Foster Hope," for Green County foster children will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Apparitions MC clubhouse, N6371 Holstein Prairie Road, Monticello. Last year, the fundraiser, which has been going on since the early 1990s, raised $12,000. The event is sponsored by the Apparitions M. C. and the group A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments (ABATE) of Green County. Apparitions and ABATE members support the foster care program by volunteering many hours of personal time to gather donations and coordinate this event.

The annual adult event will include a live auction, silent auction, alcohol raffle, bag raffle, 50/50, door prizes and a DJ. Food, alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. Admission is $10 or a gift or toy valued at $10. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The money raised assists with the costs of transportation of foster children to appointments, extracurricular activities and school-related fees, as well as respite for Green County foster families and helping with the start-up costs of independent living for youth who have become too old for foster care.

Many local businesses also support the yearly event. The foster care unit is accepting donations for the auctions, raffles and door prizes through Friday. People interested in making a donation may contact Angela Wardlow at 608-328-9313 or awardlow@gchsd.org, or send a check made out to Green County Human Services (on the memo or envelope put Gifts that Foster Hope), N3152 State Road 81, Monroe, WI 53566.
