Fund to help Red Apple employees

MONROE - A fund has been established to help employees of the Red Apple Inn.

Employees at the family restaurant in Monroe were affected by a fire that damaged the building Jan. 27. Some of the employees are single parents, and some employees have worked at the restaurant for more than 25 years.

A couple of patrons decided they wanted to do something to help the employees and also to thank the restaurant for its support of the community.

Every year the Red Apple Inn has served a free Thanksgiving meal to the community as a way to show its gratitude for supporting the restaurant throughout the year.

A fund has been set up at the Wisconsin Community Bank for the restaurant's employees. All proceeds will go directly to the employees.

Checks can be made to the "Friends of Red Apple Fund" and can be mailed to Wisconsin Community Bank, P.O. Box 100, Monroe, WI 53566. Donations can also be brought to the bank. Make sure "Friends of Red Apple Fund" is written on the check. Cash donations are also accepted at the bank.
