MONROE - After a span of relatively warmer weather over the holidays, temperatures in the Monroe area are set to drop again this week.
Forecast data from the National Weather Service predicts high temperatures to reach no more than 14 degrees Fahrenheit for the rest of the week, with temperatures dropping to as low as minus 1 degree Thursday night.
Furthermore, the National Weather Service predicts wind chill to drop temperatures to between minus 5 to minus 20 degrees.
The temperature drop, the result of an incoming cold front, follows a week with an average high temperature of 29 degrees and low of 12 degrees.
The colder temperatures are estimated to last throughout Sunday. Sunday night will see a low of 12 degrees, while Monday's estimated high temperature will return to 28 degrees.
No snow is predicted to fall in the Monroe area until Monday, when there will be a 20 percent chance of snowfall, according to the National Weather Service.
