Former Green County DA, pastor to run for state treasurer

MADISON - Madison attorney David Leeper, who previously served as Green County District Attorney in the 1970s, says he will run as a Democrat for state treasurer and his campaign will focus on the need for a state-run bank. Leeper said in a news release Wednesday, Jan. 29 that Wisconsin should use its credit and resources to provide small business, student and other loans for its residents. Leeper said it's better for the state to invest its money here than on Wall Street.
