MONROE - A 24-year old Fitchburg man was clocked by radar traveling 130 mph in a 55 mph zone at about 6 p.m. Tuesday on Wisconsin 69, near Holloway Road, Town of Washington.
"He (Hill) was speeding at a rate not seen very often around here," said Jeff Skatrud, Green County chief deputy.
Skatrud said a Green County Sheriff's Department deputy on patrol "met the vehicle" on the road and was not in pursuit when the high speed was recorded.
Stopped for his traffic violation, Colin D. Hill was eventually arrested on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and on warrants through Dane County and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
Hill was also cited for speeding, operating without a valid driver's license and having open intoxicants in motor vehicle.
He was jailed pending court.
Michael R. Graff, 21, Fitchburg, a passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant during the traffic stop. He was jailed.
Hill was arrested in Green County in September 2009 for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for speeding, traveling 81 mph in a 55 mph zone on County W near County CC in the Town of Exeter. He was found guilty and fined $250 for speeding and $200 for operating with a suspended license.
According to Wisconsin Circuit Court records online, Hill plead no contest and has been found guilty on various other charges, extending from 2006, including two counts of burglary of a building or dwelling, a class F felony.
