MONROE - John R. Karls, 46, Monroe, was arrested at about 10 a.m. Wednesday at his home at 1203 9th Street. He is initially charged with stalking, a felony. Monroe police officers assisted Village of DeForest police officers in executing a search warrant at the residence Wednesday morning. The search warrant execution was part of an investigation by DeForest police into a stalking case, which allegedly occurred about a week ago there. Karls was turned over to DeForest police for transportation to the Dane County jail; and to face formal charges in Dane County.
