Farmers of the Sugar River

Sam Wenger bought a modified old drill in order to interseed cover crops.

On June 14, nearly 20 farmers came together and toured four member sites near Juda and Brodhead to see what specific conservation practices were being tried.

The Farmers of the Sugar River producer-led group put the day together.

They were looking at how the corn crop was doing after planting cover crops last fall, grazing cover crops this spring then planting and interseeding into standing corn.
