ARGYLE - For the second time in about five years, the Guthrie family has been forced to recover from a house fire.

Firefighters from three area departments put out a blaze Wednesday at the home they rented on Old Q Road.

Chris and Amanda Guthrie and their three children were invited to stay in a home on property owned by the Lyle J. Fischer family after their first home in Argyle burned. The Guthries eventually became renters of the property.

Their new home was once a cheese factory that had been converted.

Chris Guthrie was at work today at Craigo Grain Company in Monroe when he got the call about the house fire. The Wiota, Blanchardville and Argyle fire departments responded to the call at about 2 p.m. Wednesday. Wiota firefighter Scott Fischer is Lyle Fischer's son.

Witnesses at the scene said smoke could be seen coming from the walls on one end of the home.

Neighbors helped bring out the family's belongings as the fire was being put out.
