MONROE - Family Promise of Green County, an affiliate of Family Promise, announced Family Promise Week - set for Sunday through Sunday, Oct. 19. Family Promise is a nationwide effort to help children and families who are homeless regain their sustainable independence.

Family Promise Week will be celebrated nationwide and in the 185 communities where there is a Family Promise affiliate. Since 1988, Family Promise has helped more than 600,000 people - men, women, and children - with housing, case management and other services.

Family Promise of Green County, started in November of 2011, has served 103 people, including 64 children. A partnership of dozens of local congregations and hundreds of volunteers helps keep the program running.

FPGC is always looking for more volunteers to supervise guests at the churches, make meals or work in the Day Center as an "office angel." For more information or to volunteer, contact Network Director, Rick Gleason, at 608-328-2600 or email director@familypromisegreencounty.org.
